G&C: Favourite Apps

Mashable released their list of the top apps for the week so we thought it would be fun to do a run-down of our favourite iPhone apps. There is a mish-mash line-up here, from productivity to lifestyle and weather. We don’t judge. We embrace.

Here they are, in no particular order.

AmpliTube
Ivan: Plug in your electric guitar or bass with a special connector and Amplitube turns your phone into a multi effects processor. It’s an easy way to get all the classic guitar effects without having to buy and set up all the traditional gear, perfect for a quick jam.

Draw Something
Deb: It rocks.

Touch LCD
Ben: My favourite app doesn’t make new photos look old, let me chat with my mates, show me upcoming movies or browse wikipedia (that one is my second favourite). No, my favourite app is Touch LCD. A beautifully designed clock app that mimics the way an LCD display distorts when you touch it, has customisable displays and looks drop dead gorgeous on an iPad. It also gets me to work on time…

Words with Friends
Levko: It is fun. I don’t like to shop. I’m a power apps kinda-man. But Words…Words is fun.

IMDB
Andrew: I think mine’s IMDB. As a big movie buff I use this app almost every day. Essential for reviews, trailers and finding out the name of that guy from the movie with the girl out of the second season of that sitcom with the dad out of Back to the Future.

PkT Weather
Kosta: I hope this doesn’t make me old and boring, but don’t know how I lived without it.

TramTracker
Steve: It’s only useful in Melbourne, but it’s really useful.

Evernote
Antonia: Evernote is awesome. It allows you to capture all your experiences and organise your world while synching with all your devices.

    Word Lens App.

Allows you to convert the words you hover your camera over and choose which language (Italian, French, Spanish) to translate to or from. Definitely beats a dictionary.
Also allows you to erase certain words if you need to do a quick screen capture without revealing certain information. Not entirely sure how this is useful but there is also a feature where you can reverse words from right to left.
